Bea was first able to make a name for herself as a stand-up comedian in 2011 after playing small roles she appeared in Irish and British television dramas from 2009. Her surname is Bea to honor her late father. Aisling Cliodhnadh'Sullivan' was born in Kildare town County Kildare on 16 March 1984. Bea's father Brian passed away when he was just three years old. He was an equine vet. Bea wasn't told the particulars of his death away until she turned 13. The stage name she chose was Bea in honor of her father and she wrote an article for The Guardian in 2017 about her family's experience of suicide. Bea and her younger sister Sinead was raised by Helen Moloney (n e Moloney) who was a jockey and teacher at a secondary-school. The family was awed by racing, horses as well as the race industry. Bea had a job as a tour guide for the Irish National Stud. From the age of a child, Bea knew that she did not want to pursue a racing career. Instead, she was drawn to the performing arts.
